New Publication of the Project | Mapping Hungarian Montreal

The latest volume of our project has been published: a bilingual (English-Hungarian) centenary album commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Hungarian United Church in Montreal.

The book launch took place on May 30, 2026, in Montreal, during a gala dinner organized to mark the congregation’s centennial. Edited by Balázs Venkovits and featuring nearly two hundred photographs, the book traces the history of the congregation from its founding in 1926 to the present day, its role in the lives of Montreal’s Hungarian community and Hungarian organizations in the city, and, in Gergely Fazakas’s chapter, a detailed account of the work of the founding pastor, Mihály Fehér, can be found.
