Our interdisciplinary research group at the University of Debrecen (Hungary) studies the past and present of Hungarians and Hungarian communities in Canada. The aim of our next research project is to obtain comprehensive and reliable insights into the past and present of the Hungarian diaspora in Canada, as well as how the lives of individuals and families have changed since their emigration.
To this end, we have compiled a detailed online questionnaire covering a range of topics, which can be completed by those who:
• are of Hungarian descent living in Canada, and either they themselves or their parents or grandparents emigrated to Canada at some point.
Completing the questionnaire is completely voluntary and anonymous, and the data and information provided will be used exclusively for research purposes. Some of the questions can be skipped; in several places, you can also select the options “I don't know,” “I don’t want to answer,” or “Does not apply to me.” It takes about 20-30 minutes to complete, and your answers will be sent to us after the last question by clicking the Submit button.
Widespread participation will help us to understand and document the history and present situation of Hungarian communities in Canada as fully as possible.
